Driveways

During   After

A driveway is more than just a place to park a vehicle; it is an important entrance feature for your home or business.

We are able to construct drives using an array of products & materials including brick & block paving, gravel, concrete, resin bound and resin bonded surfaces, .

In conjunction with actually creating your new drive, we will also carry out all related works prior to and after the paving process. This includes the removal of the existing surface, installation of necessary drainage and renewal of existing manholes.

Do I need Planning permission?

From October 1st 2008 new regulations apply for householders wanting to pave over their front gardens. These are refered to as SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems).

You will NOT need planning permission if a new driveway uses permeable (or porous) surfacing which allows water to drain through, such as gravel or permeable concrete block paving. If the rainwater is directed to a lawn or border to drain naturally or if drainage is directed into a soak away within your property boundary.

If the surface to be covered is more than five square meters planning permission will be needed for laying traditional, impermeable driveways that do not control rainwater running off onto roads.

All paving and surfacing, whether it's new work, replacement, or extension, is subject to the new legislation, so even if you're only replacing your existing flags with a bit of block paving, the work should be installed in accordance with the new regulations.
